Dulwich Outdoor Gallery

Graphic & Environmental Design

2017

Dulwich Outdoor Gallery (DOG) is a curated collection of street art across South East London, inspired by the traditional paintings in Dulwich Picture Gallery. Established by Ingrid Beazley in 2011, the project brings baroque masterpieces into public spaces, reinterpreted by contemporary street artists, making fine art accessible to all. The artworks appear on walls, in courtyards, and even on pavements, requiring careful planning and execution to translate classical art into an outdoor, urban context.

I was commissioned to design the metal plates displayed next to each artwork, ensuring they respected the gallery’s visual identity while complementing the colors and backgrounds of the surrounding walls. The design followed the established branding thread of Dulwich Picture Gallery and the project’s documentation, including the book Street Art Fine Art by Ingrid Beazley. My work created a cohesive, informative, and visually harmonious experience for visitors engaging with the outdoor gallery.
